Life was a city,
abandoned and
rotting,
vines like snakes
crawling up
in search of sun
above the
treeline.
Exhausted,
worn thin and
searching, I looked
up.
You,
in a land of
crumbling old
skyscrapers,
were the single light
glowing,
on the top floor
of the tallest
building.
