3 WAYS TO BUILD GRIT

Psychologist and author Angela Duckworth says in her New York Times best-seller , that the people who consistently succeed are not necessarily the ones with high IQ, but the ones that have more grit-which we can all build.

In her TedTalk , Duckworth defines grit as "passion and perseverance for very long term goals". She says Grit is having stamina. Grit is sticking with your future, day in day out, not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years, and working really hard t make the future a reality".

The question is how to build your grit?

Step 1

PRACTICE

Be deliberate about adding practice as a learning process. This can only be done with a mind that is open to continuous feedback with each experience. It must be a continuous process. All the top CEOs and best athletes and the best sportsman will tell you that the never stop the practice of learning with each new day.

Step 2

PURPOSE

You cant have a purpose if you don't have a  natural calling towards something that you love to do or a goal that you love to reach. All the practice in the world is useless without a set purpose in the mind. The purpose here is also referred to as passion. At its core, the idea of purpose is the idea that what we do matters to people other than ourselves. Purpose means the intention to contribute to the well-being of others. Create small everyday goals, which will take you towards your main goal steadily.

Step 3

TIME

Lastly, devoting a good amount of time to practice and develop from failures is the strong way to be in the grit.
