My favourite books— what I’ve read in 2019

Reading has to be my favourite thing to do. I read on the streetcar, I read when I’m waiting for people who are late for meetings, and I read at home in the evenings.

Needless to say I’ve read some incredible books this year. I thought it would be cool to share some of my favourites. These books aren’t necessarily books that came out this year, just books I’ve read over the past 12 months.

A list of my favourite books

The Water Cure by Sophia Mackintosh

Milkman by Anna Burns

The Book of Night Women by Marlon James

That Time I Loved You by Carrianne Leung

Heart Berries by Terese Marie Mailhot

Have you read any of these? What are some of your favourites books?

CRY

MORE FROM CRY

Have you read my Thoughts of a Fractured Soul? It’s my first novel about a teenager whose life changes when he becomes a father. The story is an emotional depiction of the battle he faces between his ambitions and the real-life responsibility of being a parent.

My favourite books— what I’ve read in 2019 was originally published in C.R.Y on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
