Hello Darkness–Reflections on Writing!
There is something unique about writing that I wanted to share with you all. Writers know this already. When you are deep into a story and unable to pull yourself out, that is when you have found your voice. I was invited to participate in two anthologies that will be published next year. One story, was all about love. But I couldn’t resist the calling to throw some mystery in there. Some darkness. And this was my first hello. My second hello, was a full on immersion into the kind of story I truly love to write. Now don’t get me wrong.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a little LOVE!!
I honestly have to have some element of it in my stories. I love that connection between two people that just warms your heart and fills you with hope. But let’s be honest, you saw my greeting, hell, you even saw the title of this blog…
…hello DARKNESS…hello old friend…
I’ve missed spending my time inside of a story. And I’ve found, in these past few weeks, what I really like is fixing them. Finding the flaws, making it work. Sometimes the flaws are not always apparent. Sometimes I need the help of what I like to call…MY TRIBE!!!
They have really stepped up this week. Helping me get back into my grove. No more sadness, no more self-doubt. Just an all consuming passion for the written word. And as the new year approaches, I will spend much more of my time in my madness…
