Smoothed yourself

of ruffle and wrinkle

and stood at the edge

of all that darkness

wild look in wild eye

center black growing

if there was fear

it wasn’t showing

tree on tree until

nothing remained,

until all that dark

consumed

all that light

somehow

the shape of you

stood out

against the

gloom.
