You are Hades,” she said aloud, his true name heavy on her tongue. “Why did you lie to me?” He found the will to put distance between them and stood, facing her. “I prefer to be called Aidoneus; Aidon for short. Hades means too many things. It was the name my father gave me. It is the name the mortals give my realm,” he said, kneeling in front of her and lifting her chin to face him. “It’s a name that would have lost you to me.””
