I can't comment on the translator and/or publisher's motivations on changing the title, I'm afraid. Perhaps they thought that it sounded better that way in Korean?
For some reason, the "won" currency symbol has been stripped from the text here. It's in the original article, though: https://shadycharacters.co.uk/2019/12....

It sounds like the publisher has picked up this text and translated it. It's a figure of speech that hasn't quite made the transition to Korean.
The Korean currency is Won, btw.
