Out I poured, everything kept stored
so long, out and with it the hope
that your hands could hold it,
that this excess would not spill
and stain.
Too much, I feared, but couldn’t
slow the leaking, too much
I whispered, mouth holding
apology, breath holding
the trust in your hands.
All I gave, all that echoed
from the depths of me, fit
effortless and calm,
your eyes never left mine.
Too much, I asked, terrified
and trembling, too much,
I wondered and felt the weight
of every moment to come.
Give me more, you sang,
and peace fell like
rainfall, soaking us in
joy.
