The vet finally got the results of the "colored" slide (biopsy) from Meri's ear and they have concluded that he simply has a chronic condition of "ear itchiness." Scab won't heal because I can't keep him from scratching it off. And NO a collar will not work as he will hurt himself trying to get to that ear. Gabapentin works really well to keep him off of it for a few days. Three days at the most with a hit of Zyrtec once a day. The vet said she will talk to other vets about how to move forward. As in, what might work best for him. Poor guy.
