Writing 2011 – A Year In Review

It's been a hell of a year. So many highs, a few lows and an all around amazing adventure.

I owe so much to all the many readers who bought my books this year, who took the time to leave reviews, and the ones who sent me awesome emails that mean the world to me.

Thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you!

Now for some facts…

First a recap of what new books came out:

Malcolm – the final brother in the Black Cougar Trilogy
Sweet Submission – An ARe exclusive
Power Play – the 2nd book in the Pleasure Playground series.
Submissive Beauty – My first full length BDSM Romance.
Wicked Christmas Eve

Second – a list of re-releases I self published:

Untamed Magick
Magick Ignited
Force of Magick
Magick Provoked
Roped
Displayed
Whipped
Their Obsession

Third – Awards and such

Slave To Pleasure won a 2011 Bookie award
Untamed Magick won Best Erotic PNR of 2011 in the Witch and wizard category at The Romance Reviews
Midnight Playground was nominated for a CAPA award
Malcolm was nominated for a 2012 Bookie award
Submissive Beauty was nominated for a 2012 Bookie award
Bottoms Up was nominated for a 2012 Bookie award

The total number of words written in 2011 was:

201,000

For the writers who might be interested in a few statistics. My sales are a bit atypical from what I hear from most.

39% of my sales came from Amazon
36% of my sales came from B&N
15% of my sales came from ARe
10% was made up from sales at Apple, Kobo, Sony, Smashwords, Bookstrand, and Publisher websites.

My overall bestselling title based on total # of copies was:

Submissive Beauty

My bestselling self published title based on total # of copies was:

Roped (although it barely edged out Displayed)

Despite all of that I really did not accomplish as much new writing as I had hoped. Re-releases took up a lot more time than I expected and I see that continuing through a good portion of 2012.

Since this post is now long, I'll stop here and continue on with my 2012 plans tomorrow.
