Hurricane Hazel

65 years ago, Hurricane Hazel swept the East Coast, and instead of veering off east of Toronto, the storm ran into a cold front that renewed its strength and sent it north-west, through Toronto and heading for Hudson Bay. In one of the worst natural disasters in Canadian History, Hurricane Hazel took 81 lives and left 4000 people homeless.

So naturally I felt this was the perfect setting for a short story.
