It’ll be moonlight and it’ll be water,
it’ll be us naked as we came, floating
on backs and staring skyward,
if water has a memory, it must
remember us.

Rise like a contour map, each line
higher on our flesh, breasts like
mountain ranges rising unclimbed
but tempting above the sea floor.

Put your hand beneath my head
and disrupt the stillness that showed
the stars.  Make your way across
the ocean between us,
lift me to the black.
