My friend Colleen and I joined Tumblr in 2008. We talked on Tumblr and instant messenger for several months before discovering we lived a few minutes away from each other. On this day in 2009 we met in person. October 9th, 2009. We were only fifteen and sixteen years old. It was the first time in my life that I felt like the best friend I chose for myself chose me back. I can’t believe we’ve been friends for a decade. Our friendship is a treasure and a gift to me.
