This is a story
but not one you’ve heard
about 6 little letters
that are part of 6 bigger words

It’s about an S and a T
a K and an L
a big G and a big H
with much more to tell

About how the S loved the T
long legs and shoulders wide
how often she wondered
how his heart fit inside

And the T loved the S
her thin curves and her grace
how often he smiled
when she stretched up for his face

While the T and the S
were so happy they met
another love took shape
in the middle of the alphabet

It was there that the K
fell in love with the L
he wanted to scream it
but who could he tell?

The K loved the L
for her strength and her hope
he loved that she looked
like two pieces of rope

And how L loved the K
and needed him too
He looked like a tree
and out of him branches grew

So while the L loved the K
and the S loved the T
a final love grew up
between the H and the G

The H held a big secret
that not even G knew
that H had always wanted
to be a G too

So of these 6 bigger words
these 6 tiny parts
were filled to their upper cases
with love in their hearts

How strange it may seem
but how simple to see
the love that was made
for G, H, K, L, S & T

How strange it may seem
a letter with a heart
how beautiful that they all lived
just one letter apart

How lovely it is
that H wants to be G
how perfect that K & L
are both about a tree

But the most beautiful love
was the T and the S
how long they have loved
we can only guess

that T & S met.
