Like… I get the sentiment behind this and I think it’s good for bringing attention to pay disparity everywhere, but not all actors have the same box-office draw. He doesn’t get to decide how much another actor is worth to the studio.

I get what you’re saying, but I also think that it’s incredibly important for male actors to stand up for the rights of their female colleagues, especially ones who are performing in the same role category (aka, pay range). There’s certainly space for differential in terms of audience draw, I suppose, but not to the same extent that Hollywood in particular practises on a regular basis. If those who benefit from the system don’t speak out, in their privilege, then they’re inherently complicit in keeping said system in place. I do get what you’re driving at, but I nonetheless support Benedict’s choice in this.
