Summer, soggy as it was, is almost over and I feel the tug of school around the corner, pulling me back into the classroom. Is this a good thing, as a writer? Ultimately, I think that yes — it is! There is something about having too much time on my hands that almost makes me less productive. It's almost as though I need the pressure of lesson plans, essays to mark, students to meet to make me crave, dream and long for the refuge of my own writing.
