I don't like how the word "relationship" has changed over the years. The meaning has always stayed the same, but the connotation has taken on unnecessary baggage. When you say the word "relationship", people automatically assume you mean the relationship between two lovers. This, however, is not true. Human beings have relationships with everyone. With everything. The word means the way one human relates with another. Relationships with friends. Coworkers. You have relations with people you never meet. The guy who cut you off in traffic affected your life-- you've immediately created a relationship, albeit a fleeting and negative one. But for that moment as you flipped that fucker off, you related with him. Negatively and indirectly, but it was there.
I think it's a beautiful word, really, and a bit mind boggling, if you think about it. And yet we waste it by meaning "the person I am or am planning on soon fucking."
