Typewriter Series #2729 by Tyler Knott Gregson

I’m tired of your misunderstanding,
your incorrect reading of some
antiquated ruling,
I’m tired of your rights
when your rights take away the lives
of so many others.

Hate me if you wish,
but freedom never meant
carrying weapons of mass destruction
into my grocery store
while I squeeze an avocado
for that brief moment of ripeness.

Take them all away, invent me
some magnet that can pull them
to the sky, crush them like
abandoned cars, grind them into
a powder that all the loyal worshippers
can snort to feel the same high.
