Gail, I don't know if you've already shared your thoughts on this, but how do you feel about Bane being in The Dark Knight Rises?

Bane isn't a character I invented, and big Batman villains never really 'belong' to one writer, even their creator…they end up being part of the myth. So I don't have huge feelings either way, I have to say. I'm happy he gets the exposure, hopeful that they get the different facets that make him interesting, but the comics version will still exist whether or not the film version is great.

The one thing I'm proud of with Bane is that he had fallen into a bit of a rut, and was being used almost as cannon fodder for a while there, in a few stories. So I think we did show some new sides of him that got people interested in the character again.
