MUSHY POST
WARNING!
MUSHY POST AHEAD.
Today is the FIVE YEAR publishing anniversary for me in romance. It feels as though these five years flew by...
Blind (Senses Series #1) was officially launched today. (Five years ago) What started as a writing exercise turned into something so life changing that it was included in the wedding toast made by one of my best friends. (And now Lumberjack says the infamous phrase "I gotchu" more often than he used too. * face palm * ) When I published Blind, I had no idea what the hell I was doing (and some days I still don't, honestly) but what I did know was I had characters that had ripped out of me and into the world and were only going to tell a story the way they wanted it. I experimented in the genre in ways that weren't quite popular at the time (breaking the 4th wall and talking directly to readers) and it quickly became my "signature". While it isn't the ONLY way I write any more, it will definitely always have a soft spot in my soul.
Just like this series.
Today the LAST of the Maxx and Logan's adventures concludes.
I cried when I reached the end.
I cried at the idea of "the end".
I cried that I was crying over a project that had changed my whole life. (Yeah, stupid hot mess cycle.)
As sad as I am that their adventures have reached the end of the road, I could not be more grateful to have the readers it has given me, the friendships it launched, and the life in writing I always dreamed of.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Blind (Senses Series #1) and HAPPY RELEASE DAY to Blare (Senses Series #12).
