Typewriter Series #2714 by Tyler Knott Gregson
We’re corner booth and stay after
the check, we’re wander in
and wait for it to open up,
we’re backs to the room
and the windows
and lost in a conversation
we’re somehow still having
despite years
of talking to only each other.
We’re back alley kissers,
front porch sitters who wait
for the lightning to get close
before heading in,
we’re two season
survivors, as only two live
here, freeze and fire.
I don’t know anyone else
that can do what we do.
