Devotional – Chapter 1 – Are You Sure? 2 of 2

“Your path led through the sea,

Your way through the mighty waters,

though
Your footprints were not seen.”  Psalm
77:19

Imagine
yourself leaving Egypt with the rest of the Hebrew children, running from
Pharaoh. You are at the head of the pack.
Suddenly, you come to a mighty sea.
You look back and see the rest of your friends and family being chased
by chariots filled with Egyptians.  “Um,
God, are you sure about this?”  Moses
raises his hands and miraculously the water parts, opening a path to
freedom.

Would
you take the first step or would you wait for someone else to lead the
way?  Would your faith be strong enough
to walk the hallway of the Red Sea?

God
is still performing miracles to direct our paths. The path that He planned
before time.  Where is God calling you to
walk?

Has God performed a great work in your life?  Yes!  Say amen!  Just living and breathing is a miracle.  Why do we forget about all He has done and only see the bleak future?  Think about your past.  You made it through all your mountains and valleys.  I know that there were times that I thought I would fail, and I just wanted to crawl up in my bed and wait for the storms to pass.  They eventually passed, and I am stronger today because I faced them. Think of times when you thought that you would not make it through some of your circumstances.  Well, you are still alive so you made it through.  That should bring praise.  What can you do to remind yourself of God’s faithfulness to you?

“I
will remember the deeds of the Lord;

Yes,
I will remember Your miracles of long ago.”
Psalm 77:11

Come
on and give testimony to the blessings in your life.  You may need to hear them more than anyone
else.  You may not see God’s footprints,
but He’s here.  He is always walking with
you.

Even though I walk through the valley of shadow of death

Your perfect love is casting out fear

And even when I’m caught in the middle of the storms of this
life

I won’t turn back, I know You are near

And I will fear no evil

For my God is with me

And if my God is with me

Whom then shall I fear?

Whom then shall I fear?

Oh no, You never let go

– Matt Redman “You Never Let Go”

Daily Scripture – Psalm 27
