Omg! My beloved series 3 fix-it fic Vena Cava just reached 50,000 hits today!!! This is only the second of my 85 fics in this fandom to reach this milestone and I’m pretty over the moon! 

I wrote a LOT of fix-its after series 3 came out, starting with my feverishly-written first one posted literally 24 hours after HLV aired. Vena Cava was my third take on a fix, and wasn’t the last by a long shot (I was still fixing that stuff within a month of series 4 airing, lol), but it’s always held a special place in my heart. It’s an insert/missing scene story that fits into the canon (at least pre-series 4), told from John’s POV, starting during the night Sherlock was shot, with him there in the hospital, willing Sherlock not to die. It’s hurt/comfort, and the scene in the bathroom at 221B is one of my favourite kiss scenes I’ve written - so much so that I put it in my original novel, which is very much based on (but diverges widely from) Against the Rest of the World.
