Weekly Roundup

Welcome back!

Time for a roundup post covering some of the things I focused on this past week. There are quite a few people who create a roundup type of post on a weekly or monthly basis. Since I focus on more technical matters, my roundup posts will focus on information that perhaps doesn’t appear in the author world, but is information that would help authors up their game!

David Gaughram did a great job of explaining some of the changes coming to Facebook Ads. Although David’s posts are always gems of information, I know many authors are using (or trying to use) Facebook Ads. Because of this, I want to make sure as many eyes as possible find David’s thoughts on the subject.

Coming Soon: Big Facebook Ads Changes

I had several conversations this week about what is “in style” with respect to websites. Several sites I was asked to look at were clearly old. There is “style” with respect to website design. Just like clothes and shoes go in and out of style, so do website designs. In some cases there are technical reasons for these changes – a great example is the need to move to a mobile responsive design to meet Google’s rules – but there are other reasons. Ultimately, whether the author understands that their site is out of date, their readers most certainly will.
