Interview with author Janus Gangi

1. Did you always know you wanted to be a writer or was there
something else you wanted to do as a career?

Basically, I have been a jack of all trades. I majored in music in High School and briefly tried my hand at a professional career. I did not get a formal education until late in life, and I chose the medical field. But I have always loved Egypt ever since the first time I walked into the Met ( Metropolitan Museum of Art ). If I could rewind, and start again I would have been an archeologist.
2. Is there one author that you have read every book that they have written?
The closest I have come is Poppet. I still have some to go ( not many).
There are other series that I follow such as the House of Night books and Charlaine Harris' work.
3. In you opinion what is the best movie adaptation of a book that you've read?
The Pelican Brief.
4. When you are browsing book stores what is the first section you go to?
New Age, Occult.
5. If your book was being made into a movie do you already have actors
in mind for each role? What bands/singers would you put on the
soundtrack?
I have always fancied Sandra Bullock as playing the role of Elizabeth Rose. As for the others, I would have to wait and see. No doubt, I would have the music from Shinedown and Muse for my soundtrack.

6.When you're creating characters do you incorporate traits from
people you know?
All of my characters are based on real people.
7. If you had the chance to have a sit down with any author alive or
deceased who would it be and why?
Samuel Clemens I have always admired his insights on life and his wit. His stories reflect the true nature of the American dream, which is to live a plain and simple happy life. Unfortunately, it never works that way. He came up with some very creative ways to deal with the problem. I also like that although his stories are about the common man, there is depth and wisdom in them.
