Yesterday, I got to walk around Annapolis. It’s an enchanting city anyway, but the streets were packed with families and young graduates in new, bright Navy uniforms. It was parents’ weekend after months of initiate training at the naval academy, and oh, the JOY.

The sheer happiness that radiated out of these families. The pride in the faces of each new graduate who finally got to wear that sleek white uniform. The unbreakable blanket of unity that had fallen over the whole of downtown Annapolis as everyone took to the streets, having dinner, eating ice cream, just celebrating being together again as well as their loved ones’ achievement.

It was such an honor to see Annapolis on that day, to get a peek into such a special moment. And of course, I could think of nothing else but to post this as a #postaboutpeace started by @kris10writes. Last night embodied not only peace, but joy. (at Downtown Annapolis)
