When writing Vin

Vin started as a fresh twist on a story as old as time - the knight in shining armor.

When he first storms in to discover Eliza, desperate and on the run, we dislike him immediately. But the dynamic between the two of them shifts quickly, and we start to see new sides of the titular mob boss. He's wry, generous, and has a little bit of a flair for the dramatic. And above all, he protects those around him. Writing Vin was a blast, because his protective nature really leaped off the page at me, while the parallels to Eliza's abusive ex force you to confront some tough aspects of who Vin is and what he does for a living.

Like all of us, Vin is a mix of dark and light.
