INKLINGS Q & A: In LOOKING FOR THE KING a young American, Tom McCord, is hoping to discover Mount Badon, the site where the old records say Arthur soundly defeated the Saxon hosts. According to Charles Williams, what English towns might be considered candidates for this historic site?

A: Williams wrote that Mount Badon might be modern-day Bath. But it could also be Badbury, Bedwyn, Beedon, Bowdon, or Bownhill. One also finds multiple candidates for the sites of Arthur's birth, for Camelot, for where he obtained Excalibur, and where he is buried (or perhaps just resting!) Maybe Tom's proposed book on Arthur ought to be called Claim A Lot!
