Interview with Jessica Subject & GIVEAWAY!!!

JessicaSubject: Thanks so much, Lisa! It's always a pleasure to be here.

LisaFox: I know you have been here before and answered this exact question, but one more time for luck, okay? (Lol!) Who is Jessica Subject?

JS: I am a woman whose mind is spinning out of control, trying to fit everything that I want to do into one day. Seems like an impossible task on most days with my writing, kids, husband and the day job, but somehow I manage.

LF: I love heroes, you know that I do, and I must know more about Josh Summers, the hero of BENEATH THE STARRY SKY

JS: Oh, I love to talk about Josh. He is a former underwear model, turned actor, ready to become a film producer. He used to be on the television show, Searching For Earth. The show has since ended and he is ready to try something new. But Josh has a secret that he keeps hidden from everyone, especially the paparazzi. And it could stand in the way of him finding happiness.

LF: Who plays him in the movie?

JS: Josh Duhamel is my inspiration for Josh Summers. I had pictures of him printed out while I was writing this story.

LF: Your heroine, Tamara Johnson, suffers from a rare disease called Alopecia. How did you come to decide that she would have this affliction?

JS: Alopecia Areata is actually more common than you would think. This autoimmune disease affects nearly 2 percent of Americans of both sexes and of all ages and ethnic backgrounds, often beginning in childhood. In most cases, hair falls out in small, round patches approximately the size of a quarter. The disease can range anywhere from a few bare patches to more extensive hair loss. Currently there is no cure or drugs approved for its treatment.

In Celestial Seduction, I knew Tamara wore a wig, hiding her baldness, and that her own 1NightStand experience had given her more courage. I decided she would have Alopecia Areata rather than cancer, as everyone has heard of cancer and knows how treatments can leave patients bald. But Alopecia Areata is a lesser known disease which can leave patients socially and emotionally scarred.

Don't get me wrong, I do support cancer research, but I wanted to bring light to Alopecia Areata as well.

LF: What is your favorite way to spend time when you are not writing?

JS: Reading and getting out of the house with family. Meeting other writers is fun as well.

LF: Boxers or briefs?

JS: Doesn't really matter because they'll just be a pile of fabric on the floor. LOL

LF: Any new projects in the works?

JS: Yes! Hehe. Unknown Futures, another 1NightStand story will be coming out soon with Decadent Publishing, as well as Never Gonna Let You Go, which is the first book in my GLBT scifi/dystopian series. I have a novel coming out next year as well, The Zurian Child, which is the first book in my Mark of the Stars series. And I have a couple secret projects in various stages.
