On the penultimate page of the current issue of Chew (No. 22), comes a new take on the sportswriter archetype. He enters the story here as a burly sort with calloused knuckles, raccoon eyes (and not from those hockey writer special 6:15 a.m. flights), and, you'll soon see, a stack of zombiefied ballplayers behind him. Doesn't sound like any ball writer I know in fly-over country. Must be from a coast.
