UNPUBLISHING my series!
Hello All,
I'm sad to report that due to my anxiety, my family and I have elected to take down my Breaking Order series. It's been a pinpoint for stress as I've wanted to live up to expectations, and it was a story I bled out on with my heart too deeply.
COPIES WILL BE ON DISCOUNT UNTIL JULY 5TH. After that, they will no longer be in stock or able to get on Amazon, B&N, etc.. I also will be suspending all of my author accounts and muting them until further notice (this is not one of them).
As of this moment, I'm not supposed to be writing for my mental/spiritual health's sake, but after some counseling and therapy, I may get back on the horse, revamping the series to be better for MG audiences than it was previously.
Why am I deleting the series, instead of just not writing?
Part of my problem with anxiety is the constant PRESSURE I've had trying to write clean, Christian YA with little romance, and live up to genre and audience.
I've realized that from the get-go, I hindered the series with a lack of an editor, and I made it worse advertizing BO as YA.
Then, to cope with that mistake, I made SR into a darker story that not even my brother feels like he can read. I created characters who were shady and controversial (though, I do love Ambert and Calista like children, and I might reboot the series with them as the focus).
And then BR--Blazing Rebellion--had a POV where death became the norm, chaos ran wild and I lost myself and the entire purpose I had for the series: loving the creative arts, encouraging others, and daring to dream. Not violence, war, and darkness.
I'm going to take a good long time off--time to think, time to heal, time for Scripture, time to relax and read Middle Grade, and time for counseling with my anxiety.
Once I'm more stable, I'll be "re-releasing" the series with new content and a Christian MG makeover which will probably have new/revised covers. BUT LET'S NOT TALK ABOUT THAT. Right now, I'd appreciate it if no one talked about my writing or convince me to bring it back. The only thing that'll get me writing again is if I have time to heal.
Thank you so much for supporting my journey as a teen author. And special thanks to those who encouraged me to try out this experience.
