FRAILTY, THY NAME IS WOMAN—SHAKESPEARE, THE TRAGEDY OF HAMLET

The 21st century, along with its developments for the better, what with technology and an interlinked society, had also brought about a slew of feminists, both men and women, taking extreme interests in the welfare of the ‘exploited’ human women of the world.

According to the W.H.O., about 35% of the women in the world have been through violence at the domestic level. 38% of the women are murdered by family members.

As if it were not enough, divorces have become a common phenomenon, and women are the usual victims of the humiliations in court, society and family, living through hell itself, while this stereotypical society gives men a chance to move on. No, many chances to move on.

The sun marks the beginning of a bright day in many of our lives, but It is glaringly obvious that for many, the rising of the sun only indicates another day of pain, humiliation, tears, and the struggle to stay upright and dignified in front of those who try to break them and dishonor them.

Women, if you are one of those affected by physical, sexual, or mental violence either at home or your living environment, It is high time you question yourselves. Why is it that your lives are so miserable? Why is there no joy and laughter and delight as promised, but a long and winding road of nothing but an empty void of bleak shocks? Why is it that you depend upon someone else, who can hardly understand your pain, talk for your benefit, while you give up fending for what is rightfully yours? Are you that sacrificial, that the thought of giving up your dignity, honor, self-respect, dreams, and the entirety of your valuable lives for a supposed lost cause? Is it, in fact, a lost cause? Where did the sustaining strength that kept your family running smoothly go? Why is it failing to keep you running smoothly in the road of life?

It is quite understandable that women, in many parts of the world, are brought up to abide by the words of their parents, and then their in-laws, with their husband at the forefront. But, even lacking education, As human beings with a sixth sense, are we all not aware of the sensible orders and the nonsensical ones? It is due time that women start by deciding for themselves, on small matters like their choice of career, personal life, service to the society, duty to their preferred god, and the set of principles that will define them for days to come.

Women, there is no point in blaming men, or listening to others blaming men, for the abuses that is suffered by you, for, in the first place, you have given them the room to take advantage over you. Therefore, you must rectify it. A lesson that every woman must learn in her beautiful life is to say ‘NO’ when absolutely necessary. Establish yourselves firmly and fearlessly in this bountiful world, and you will not be lacking for anything, if only you possess the courage to face the music of the world for a short while.

Women, fighting for yourselves never means opposing men. Love them, teach them, and above all, be patient with them. If you are dealing with your life’s partners, then be the completion when they lack one, instead of standing up to them at all times, or else bending to their will for every walk of this life. Feminine softness, intuition, instinct, love, and the gentle heart will win over where the rash words of some unknown activists of this society, humiliation, fear, inherent hatred and constant assertion has failed. Show them the little defeats of life, to bring more light and more joy into their lives. Be there for them when they most need you, because, there is a moment of vulnerability and uncertainty in all lives.

Finally, Women, your lives are in your hands. Rise as the phoenix from the ashes, only to spread a strict sense of love, justice, truth, and light in this world, when all that might prevail is darkness. Rise as the full moon and shine upon your own lives, and watch as it unfurls into many colors. I am a woman too, and with my full life ahead of me, I set out, to enlighten my life. You?
