Armistead Maupin's Vision of Gay Life

I have to admit that even though I've read so many gay classics, I'm not familiar with Maupin's work at all. So this is interesting to me, too. It's a piece about Maupin, and his life and work.

Maupin came out in 1974. Around the same time, he began writing Tales of the City, stories serialized in the San Francisco Chronicle revolving around a diverse group of friends living in the same San Francisco apartment building.
