I don’t even know what the popular opinions for these are, so I’ll just post my most CONTROVERSIAL AND SCATHING OPINIONS HERE.

Valhalla: I don’t like that Veikko and Vibeke’s Thaco armor are dual-colored while Violet’s and Varg’s are monochrome. A fearsome foursome should be fashionably coordinated!

Ragnarok: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but Shika was too fuckin cool to die basically right after showing up like that! I really wanted her to be a Valkyrie! How does got damn Pelamus get like two books’ worth of appearances but Shika only gets one fight?!

Güdsriki: I mostly love this book, but I have to say I thought the circumstances of Veikko’s death felt a little anticlimactic. Maybe that was the point, but I just felt like Nel’s defeat of him didn’t come down to anything that anyone else couldn’t have done, apart from taking a serious beating prior. A handful of crushed black pepper could have defeated Veikko–Nel was barely needed. Again, maybe that was the point. It’s possible that there’s some Norse myth involving Loki sneezing to death. I don’t know Norse mythology enough to say with certainty what was and was not directly inspired by it.
