Typewriter Series #2617 by Tyler Knott Gregson
Were we ever strangers, we two
finding each other time and again
after decades of disrepair?
Were we unknown to one another,
unrecognizable under the faces
we learned to wear?
Oh how we thought they fit.
Can an unknown place be home,
can we move into it
before we learn the address?
Can we call it ours?
Maybe it was a different life,
maybe I was a different man,
all this before, all this leading
to you. I look back now
and nothing makes sense.
Maybe once we wake
the details start to fade,
each moment, another memory.
