Had read this last year. Agree with you. This was a stately book. Surprised how familiar one becomes with the characters by the end.

This was one of my favorite read. I totally agree with you, by the end of the book i felt like i wanted to hug Count Rostov! This book was like that perfect meal that you enjoy every bite, when you leave the restaurant you are still thinking about it and 6 months down you can still taste every bite!
