Typewriter Series #2609 by Tyler Knott Gregson

Different starts, different middles,
different styles that brought us to here.
I know what I know
and you know what you know,
handed down like family history,
like legend spoken over firelight and spark,
these grew into us, fused
from those flames and it’s the staying kind.

There’s a middle, we just gotta find it,
some common ground where who you were
and who I was can meet, lock eyes
and intertwine fingers and go forward
together.  One thing against it all,
one shadow against one wall,
a silhouette from our fire, our sparks
we’ll hand down.  

Let our legends be heroic, let our stories
be honest ones, let them teach nothing
but kindness.
