If I Were The Moon

If I were the moon,
 I would want you to be
 the night.
 My night.
 I would perfectly fit
 in your embrace.

If I were the moon,
 I would want you to be
 my sky.
 I would shine on your heart,
 full of love
 and hope,
 empty of fear
 and tears.

If I were the moon
 and if you followed me
 like a king follows
 his heart,
 together we would sprinkle
 our light
 in this world.

Only If I were the moon.
 Your moon.
 And if you were the night.
 My night.
