Secrets and Shoutlines

Well it's the first of July . . . how did that happen? Perhaps more miraculously, the sun is out. This month I went to my first ever literary festival at Bromley (it was their first ever festival, too) to appear on a Romance Writers' panel alongside Dorothy Koomson, Julia Williams and Juliet Archer. We answered all sorts of questions about romantic heroes, how and where we write, our inspirations . . . I had fun talking about sex scenes and how it all comes out (cue inevitable innuendo) and afterwards we had a signing, where I got to meet a couple of lovely readers and use my brand new Sharpie. I love Sharpies. Then there was an 'impromance' which unfortunately I wasn't able to make, which basically involved actors playing out romantic scenes from novels. I'm not sure HOLLYWOOD SINNERS would have been an appropriate choice. Well, it was only 4 p.m.

Ooh I just glanced up at the tennis: Goran Ivanisevic is looking pretty fit these days, isn't he? Not sure about the hair though. 

Anyway, in other news I've just delivered Book 2 to my publishers!! This is very exciting. Now we get to talk titles and shoutlines and covers and and and - basically, it's the most exciting bit ahead of publication. It'll be out early next year so not too long to wait (though it feels like an eternity to me).

Right, Rafa's on in a minute so I'm going to dash. HOT. He's so hot. My friend Emily doesn't get it - she says he looks like the missing link but I disagree. Or maybe this is why I like him. Anyway, he's hot and I'm watching.
