The real thing versus the e-thing

With my first novel only published a few weeks ago it has been a novelty to pass the physical book onto family and friends. I had never realised what a tactile experience it was. Looking at the cover, flicking through the pages, looking at the introduction, reading the back page then back to flicking through the pages. Call me old fashioned but receiving the electronic equivalent cannot possibly give those moments.

Any thoughts?
