Back in the Writers in the Schools groove after a few months off, starting with a visit to Park Street School, Fredericton, New Brunswick, which necessitated an early morning start for fear of delays because of flood diversions (none encountered as it turned out).
The day proved rewarding and worthwhile, as WISP visits invariably do, and I hope the students, from K-5, found my readings, and talking about writing, at least tolerably entertaining and educational, and I thank them for their lively curiosity and interest, and for their enthusiastic response to the episodes from Libby’s Got the Beat, Walker’s Runners, Out of Sight, and Total Offence.
In the picture: Preparing to read from Out of Sight, the fourth book in the Brunswick Valley series, by setting up the back story before Linh-Mai’s discovery of Brian’s tragic secret.
