Books and Bubblebaths!

My heroine Daisy in If You Give a Girl a Viscount relaxes each night by eating shortbread and drinking warm milk in the kitchen with her friends, Hester and Joe. I wish I could do that, too, but I have to save those shortbread moments for only a few days during the holiday season.

So with better health in mind, I've thought of a great way to unwind this month: a book and a bubblebath. I'm going to give away an apothecary jar filled with curled soap made by my multi-talented friend Leah Marie Brown.  Not only is she a regular Etsy contributor, she's a Francophile and Marie Antoinette expert; the author of Silence in the Mist; a military wife and mom; and a former radio and television broadcaster in the U.S. Air Force!

Along with Leah's beautiful gift, I'm going to send you one of my favorite Christmas Regencies…Mary Balogh's A Christmas Promise, to read in that bubblebath I hope you'll take!

To enter: Either: 1) Leave a comment about a special aspect of your plans for the holidays,  or 2) tell us about a random act of kindness you performed for a stranger. It can be from long ago, last month, or even this morning!

Shipping restrictions means this giveaway is open only to US readers–sorry, my international friends!

I have 4 sisters and we have all moved away from our original home. We planned a "Christmas cookie baking week-end". One sister was to far away to make the journey and the other had a family emergency, so it ended up being just two of us, baking our little hearts out. However, we still managed to include the other two by packing small "baking" gifts like a spatula, cookie cutters, packages of cookie mix, and the most important.... notes reflecting conversations that included them during our baking time together. Oh, and yes we boxed up cookies to send along too. I am hoping that it makes them feel like they were included event though they couldn't be with us.

Sara Darling This Christmas is going to be different from my family’s traditional holiday plans. My father and sister will be staying home while my mother and I are going to visit her family. Not only will this be our first Christmas apart, but this will be the first time my mother and I have seen her family in seven years. So much has happened since I saw my cousins. One joined the Navy and got married, and another teaches Science Literature for Teach America. It will be strange not being with my Father and sister for Christmas, but Christmas should be enjoyable all the same.

Kieran Kramer Kellsa, I hope this Christmas is a lovely one for you! It will be different from your usual, it sounds like, but I love your attitude--you're open to having a really nice one with your mother's family. Safe travels and a very Merry Christmas to you!!!

Hugs from Kieran :>)
