More precisely, the glowing matter and energy ringing a black hole – not as fancy as CGI yet, but this is real!

It’s size & shape match predictions of general relativity.

This international effort, years in development, was announced in simultaneous news conferences in Washington, Brussels, Santiago, Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo. Reported by Reuters and others.

I’m starting to believe astronomers will eventually be able to image anything that emits energies that reach our little world.
