It's the most wonderful time…of the year…

The snow hasn't fallen yet, so let's keep it real.  ^This is what it looks like outside.  I wanna know what that is on the side of the road, though.  And who that is in the distance.  Hrm.

In other news…I've just submitted the final correction to the paperback of This Brilliant Darkness, so all you who've been waiting for a dead tree version are in luck!  Coming soooooooon!  Like, this week!

If you've already read the book and you have questions, or if you are the type who's into interesting slightly spoilerish stuff, there's a great, super-in-depth interview over at Talk Supe today.  We spent hours emailing back and forth.  I think you will enjoy it.  Don't forget they're doing a giveaway, too, on the 3rd.

Troll or Derby update:

Since Nanowrimo's over, I don't feel right posting "notable nanos" anymore, but I'll probably still post some snippets on Twitter, because I'm getting a lot of good response from that.

Yesterday, I sat down and read the last five chapters of my existing mss, and I drafted out the remaining chapters to be written.  All-in-all, sixteen.  Today I wrote the first of those.  It feels good—I could possibly actually really totally be done with this first draft by the end of December, if I don't get too busy with other stuff.  (Is there a big holiday coming up or something?  Remind me.)

I'm going to do my best to be disciplined about this, making the novel my first work priority every day.  Even if I don't get through an entire chapter, I need to write at least *some*.

I can't WAIT for this book to be in your hot little hands.  If you liked This Brilliant Darkness, you will LOVE this book.  If you like fairies, trolls, and roller derby, you will love this book.  I have never been more excited to see a project come together than I am this.  It is a wonderful feeling!  My closest friends encouraged me to step out on the ledge, take the leap, and see if my wings would catch me.  For better or for worse, I am so glad I finished my first book and published it, because it gave me the power and energy to finish this second one, and I have never been more proud of any work I've done in my LIFE.  This is my life.  It's what I'm meant to do.  Thank you for sharing that journey with me.
