It was a store.

I started to talk

with one of the employees.

At first, she took a distance,

I noticed.

In the end, she said,

to be disappointed.

She said that, as I made

my choice clear, years ago.

I paid my presents

and then I said, goodbye.

I saw it in her eyes.

No hard feelings.
