Hi...Yep, there are a lot of people who prefer third person. I'm not sure why but I was one of those people for a long time. Now I'm okay with either.

As with just about everything, there are, of course, exceptions. It never bothered me that "Lolita" was written in first person.
We have a friend who simply refuses to read any fiction that's written in first person. Last year, he accidentally bought such a book. He was profoundly annoyed and gave the book away without reading it.
