Why do we complain? Understanding the human need to blame

Don’t we people enjoy complaining? We always have something to say against the community, the system or state. What’s more? An individual is proud if their problem turns out to be more serious than their friend’s and if they feel that someone else’s problem is clearly greater than theirs, what insecurity ensues! Why do educated, intelligent humans behave this way? What is so comforting in this culture of complaining?
