“Your dog weighs a ton.”

Gavin looks in the rearview mirror and smiles hard for the sight of John grappling with Forbes. Forbes is loving the new company, the new attention. Gavin’s mum even offered to sit in the back with Forbes when they picked John up from the station, but John had refused. Gavin catches his mum’s eye and sees her amusement, sees how badly she wants to comment.
