Who is Claire Rose Lutin?
The Strange & Unusual Universe of Silver Moon Unicorn
Silver Moon parked the trolley and turned off the engine. She got up to look for White Lion. He was sitting quietly on his bean bag chair, which was next to her bean bag chair. His chair was, of course, much smaller, but just as comfortable as her was.
“White Lion, I need to leave the trolley for a bit and do some research here in this town. Will you be okay by yourself for a few hours?”
“What? You’re leaving me! No, don’t leave!”
“Honey, I have work to do. How else do you expect to eat and have a comfortable place to live?”
“Oh, well, when you put it that way…” He sighed. “Don’t be away too long. Otherwise I will miss you.”
“Okay. I’ll try not to take too long. Will you stay on the trolley until I get back?”
“Hmmm, what if I get bored?”
Silver Moon smiled. “Dear, please stay on the trolley. I don’t want to leave without you.”
“Well, when you put it that way… I am rather sleepy. Perhaps I’ll just take a nap while you’re gone.”
“That would be an excellent idea. Pleasant dreams, little one.” She kissed him on top of his head.
White Lion curled up and went to sleep. Silver Moon took her tablet computer and locked up the trolley. She wasted no time in finding the town’s library to get started. Once there, it wasn’t easy. Silver Moon had to look up all the recent news she could on Claire Rose Lutin. There wasn’t a whole lot to find. Just a few snippets about her being the lost princess, who may have murdered the emperor—Silver Moon shuddered at the thought.
Another patron noticed what she was reading. “Oh, you’re interested in Claire Rose Lutin? I hear she’s a real bitch. Can’t stand it when she can’t have her way.”
Silver Moon raised an eyebrow. “Really? How do you know that?”
“She wouldn’t have murdered the Emperor in cold blood otherwise.”
“I see.” Silver Moon stood up to put the reading material back.
Another person came over. “Oh, are you talking about Claire Rose Lutin again?”
“Sure am. That elvish lady was reading articles about her. So I just told her what I know.”
“You sure know a lot about her. Some princess she is. She could be on the throne by now, if she hadn’t gotten lost when she was a child. That is if she’s really who she says she is.”
“No kidding. Thinks her way is the only way. How selfish can you be?”
“Yeah, I know. Just look at her great grandfather. Is he really dead?”
“Supposed to be. His own son murdered him.”
“That family is so messed up.”
Silver Moon stared at the two gossips. She walked over to them. “Have you two ever met Ms. Claire Rose Lutin?”
“Well, no. I wouldn’t want to.”
“I wouldn’t want to meet her either.”
“Then it seems to me that you wouldn’t know all there is to know about her.” Silver Moon turned and walked out of the library to its courtyard. She sat down at a table and did a search on her tablet. It couldn’t find much more information that what she already had found. She picked up her tablet and walked back to the trolley.
White Lion was still sleeping on his bean bag chair when Silver Moon got on board. She set her tablet down on the table by her bean bag chair. She sat down and sighed. White Lion opened his eyes.
“What’s wrong, Mama?”
“I couldn’t find much information and I ran into two prejudicial people. They thought they could tell me about Claire Rose Lutin and they haven’t even met her.”
“Oh. Maybe you could meet her and interview her.”
Silver Moon smiled. “Maybe, but I’m not holding my breath.”
