Hypocrisy

Perhaps we are all hypocrites, conscious or unconscious simulators of thoughts, ideals, feelings, enterprises, emotions, that we do not experience to the end, or that are intended to conceal unmanageable, inconceivable, controversial and enigmatic aspects of ourselves.

Hypocrisy is the inevitable consequence of the denial, repression and removal of our shadow side, the mistery of who we are, what we are doing here, what is our purpose and destiny.

Since the removal, denial or perversion of the shadow side is a social, cultural phenomenon, underway for thousands of years, which characterizes every aspect of human life, what else can we expect but a hypocritical world?

The term “hypocrite” comes from the Latin “hypocrĭta”, from the Greek “hypokritḗs”, which means “actor”, “simulator”.

Perhaps the highest hypocrisy, the most masterful, which requires prodigious theatrical skills, is practiced by those who manage to hide their hypocrisy, not only to others, but also to themselves.

Perhaps the only way to avoid hypocrisy in this hypocritical world is to openly declare oneself as hypocrites, i.e. simulators, actors, comedians, actors.

Perhaps in this way we can gradually learn to recognize the distinction between the part we play, the role we play, and the one who plays it, who interprets it.

Maybe by doing so we will be able to understand who is behind the drama and the comedy of life.
